What is Carbon Black?
Carbon black is a material produced by the incomplete combustion of heavy petroleum products. It is the predominant reinforcing agent used to improve the processing, strength, and durability of elastomer-based composites in most rubber applications. Selecting the right carbon black can improve the speed of dispersion and ease of mixing while also keeping costs down.
Uses of Carbon Black
Carbon black is used mainly in tyres as excellent rubber reinforcement. It is also an excellent coloring agent as black pigment, and therefore widely used for printing inks, resin coloring, paints, carbon paper, and toners. Furthermore, it is used in various other applications as an electric conductive agent, including antistatic films, fibers, etc.
